Friday: Wrapping up our week-long series on WFSB’s Great Day at 9a for National Infertility Awareness Week, UConn Health genetic counselors, Brittany Gancarz and Olivia Riccio discuss how genetic counseling can help families get answers about infertility.

Thursday: Dr. Danielle Luciano, our OB/GYN chair, explains how treatments for endometriosis and fibroids offer hope for those struggling with infertility.

 

Wednesday: OB/GYN Dr. Elizabeth Morgan highlights the role of maternal-fetal Medicine and how this specialized care supports patients both before and during pregnancy. From helping patients prepare for a healthy pregnancy to managing higher-risk conditions along the way, Dr. Morgan shares how a personalized, team-based approach helps ensure the best possible outcomes with the ultimate goal of both mom and baby going home safely.

Tuesday: Dr. Jason Schneider discusses a common condition, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), as well as the role weight management can play in infertility. In addition to his work as an OB/GYN, Dr. Schneider is one of just 200 physicians in the United States who is board-certified in obesity medicine, allowing him to take a comprehensive approach to care and support his patients with both hormonal health and sustainable weight management strategies that may improve fertility outcomes.

Monday: Dr. Christopher Morosky discusses what infertility really means, common misconceptions, and the advances in care that an academic medical center such as ours provides to help more people build the families they’ve been hoping for.
